About
A public record for the visual arts of Mauritius.
Arkolektif documents, describes and preserves records of Mauritian visual art so that works, artists and cultural contexts remain discoverable beyond exhibitions, private collections and fragile personal archives.
The archive focuses on fine arts including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking and mixed media. It is non-commercial by design: records are presented for research, documentation and cultural continuity, not for sale.
Each record is built around careful metadata, clear image documentation, collection or source notes, photography credit and copyright information. The aim is to make the archive useful to artists, researchers, educators, students and future generations.
Arkolektif is open to Mauritian artists in Mauritius and the diaspora. Inclusion is reviewed to maintain documentation quality, consistent metadata and respect for artists' rights.
